Customer-Supplied Parts Policy

Yes—Kuma Automotive may install customer-supplied parts in certain situations. To keep the repair process fair and efficient, customers who bring their own parts must understand and accept the following policy before work begins.

Before You Schedule

  • You are responsible for confirming that every part is correct for your vehicle’s year, make, model, engine, trim, VIN, and factory options.
  • Parts must be new, complete, undamaged, and include all required hardware, seals, gaskets, fluids, and related components.
  • Please tell us when scheduling that you plan to supply your own parts. We may need to inspect the parts before accepting the job.
  • Kuma Automotive may decline to install parts that appear unsafe, incorrect, used, damaged, incomplete, or unsuitable for the repair.

Labor, Inspection, and Disassembly Charges

Our technician’s time is billable even when a customer-supplied part cannot be installed. If a part is incorrect, defective, incomplete, does not fit the vehicle, or causes the repair to stop, the customer is still responsible for labor already performed.

This may include diagnostic time, inspection fees, disassembly and reassembly charges, and any additional labor needed to return the vehicle to a safe condition. Additional work will be discussed with you whenever practical before we continue.

No Warranty on Customer-Supplied Parts

Customer-supplied parts are installed without a parts warranty from Kuma Automotive. We are not responsible for the part’s quality, fitment, performance, durability, shipping damage, incorrect catalog information, or premature failure.

If a customer-supplied part fails or another repair is required because of that part, all diagnosis, removal, replacement, and reinstallation labor will be charged separately. Any warranty coverage must come directly from the company or seller that supplied the part.

Why We Have This Policy

An incorrect or defective part can occupy a service bay, delay other appointments, and require the same work to be performed more than once. This policy protects our technician’s time while still giving knowledgeable customers the option to supply their own parts.

Customer Acknowledgment

By authorizing work with customer-supplied parts, you confirm that you understand this policy and accept responsibility for part selection, fitment, and related labor charges.
